A chart editor with an opinion.

Start with considered defaults, then make the decisions that matter for your data. No blank canvas and no wall of options.

Bring the data.

Paste CSV data, map columns to visual roles, and edit individual cells without leaving the chart. Missing required values stay visible instead of silently disappearing from the table.

Shape the chart.

Choose the form, grouping, labels, sizing, and geometry through controls that understand the chart you selected.

Let the theme do the design.

Six curated themes handle typography, color, spacing, axes, and the details that make a chart feel designed.

From data to chart.

A short feedback loop from the first pasted row to the artifact you can use.

1

Paste or edit your data.

Start with a table, fix values in place, and assign columns to the roles the selected chart needs.

2

Design with live feedback.

Switch chart types, themes, labels, and dimensions while the preview recomposes itself beside the controls. Review separates blocking errors from recoverable warnings.

3

Export or publish.

Download PNG or SVG immediately. Sign in when you want permanent image, page, and interactive embed links.

Web chart editor questions.

The short version before you start making one.

Is the web chart editor free?
Yes. Paste data, create a chart with any curated theme, and export PNG or SVG without an account. A free account is required to publish permanent links. Custom theme overrides require Creator or Pro.
What data can I use?
Paste comma-separated or tabular data, map its columns to chart roles, and edit rows and individual cells directly in the editor.
What chart types are available?
The guided editor includes column, horizontal bar, line, area, scatter, and pie charts. Source editing exposes all ten composable Szum marks for more advanced definitions.
What happens when a chart has an issue?
Review separates blocking errors from recoverable warnings and non-blocking suggestions. An invalid draft keeps the last valid chart visible. When Szum can verify a deterministic replacement for an error or suggestion, you can apply its named fix explicitly as one undoable change. See Validation and Review.
What can I export or publish?
Export the current chart as PNG or SVG. After signing in, publish a permanent chart page, static image URLs, and a responsive interactive embed from the same definition.
Do I need to write code?
No. The guided controls cover the complete visual workflow. The JSON definition is available when you want to inspect it, make an advanced edit, or reuse it through the Image API or MCP server.
